Familial Hyperparathyroidism
Abstract
A family with four members having verified hyperparathyroidism (HPT) and another three with hypercalcemia is reported. Of the four patients with verified HPT two had adenoma and two hyperplasia of the parathyroid glands. The statistical analysis of the cases with borderline serum calcium is discussed, as well as difficulties in the histopathologic differentiation between adenoma and hyperplasia.
